BREAKING DOWN THE CONVENTION CONTENT

We are excited to have a variety of sessions at the convention surrounding our “Breaking Barriers” theme. There will be roundtable discussions, student and advisor breakout sessions, and a keynote speaker for Friday night. Topics for the student sessions include financial literacy, job and internship search 101, networking and the collegiate experience, and a panel discussion on how to stand out in your chosen career path. Advisor sessions will feature an advisor administrative roundtable and cover other topics like hosting a regional conference on your campus, building the Phi Eta Sigma brand on your campus, and putting our philanthropic mission to action.

EMMANUEL ACHO TO DELIVER KEYNOTE ADDRESS AT 2020 NATIONAL CONVENTION

Emmanuel Acho is a Fox Sports Analyst, Co-Host, FS1 Speak for Yourself and Host/Producer of Uncomfortable Conversations with a Black Man, a web series about racism to drive open and uncomfortable dialogue.

Next up? Look for Acho’s new book, available on November 10th. In partnership with Oprah Winfrey and based on his hit web series, Uncomfortable Conversations With a Black Man the book will be the third title published as An Oprah Book.

After earning his undergraduate degree in sports management in 2012, Emmanuel was drafted by the Cleveland Browns. He was then traded to the Philadelphia Eagles in 2013, where he spent most of his career. While in the NFL, Emmanuel spent o¬-seasons at the University of Texas to earn his master’s degree in Sports Psychology. In 2016, Emmanuel left the football field and picked up the microphone to begin his broadcast career. In 2018, Emmanuel was promoted within ESPN, where he served as the youngest national football analyst and was named a 2018 Forbes 30 Under 30 Selection. In 2017, he and his family’s non-profit organization, Living Hope Christian Ministries, raised enough funds to build a hospital in rural Nigeria.
