Hints on Learning and Studying is an extremely popular 8-page pamphlet developed initially for Phi Eta Sigma by Dr. R. J. Van Tassel, a psychology professor at Miami University of Ohio.

This pamphlet, which has undergone several revisions since its inception, addresses effective study habits such as preparation for studying; productive reading, note taking, and memorizing skills; as well as suggestions for the successful preparation of term papers and preparing for exams.

Our members and chapter leadership have found many creative and helpful uses for this study guide in addition to applying its concepts to their individual learning program.

Some 175,000 copies of this copyrighted publication are distributed each year without charge to campuses where there is a Phi Eta Sigma chapter. Advisers should make their request for the number of copies needed on the form provided them each January.

They are printed each May in the numbers requested and shipped by the printer directly to our chapters.
