The Phi Eta Sigma Executive Committee conducted its off-convention-year meeting the last weekend of May at Sanibel Island, Florida, to discuss plans for the Society’s future. During this meeting, Knoxville, Tennessee, was chosen as the site of the 2010 National Convention and Leadership Workshops, which will be held in early October and co-hosted by the University of Tennessee chapter. Phi Eta Sigma Supports Public School Arts Programs: 2010 National Convention Philanthropy Project

Student members of the Executive Committee have taken the lead in a special philanthropy project to promote arts education through our 2010 national convention in Knoxville, Tennessee. Local chapters are encouraged to organize fundraisers for providing financial support to arts programs in the Knoxville City Schools, as well as arts programs in your own communities. A check for the total funds raised will be presented to the Knoxville City Schools, and the chapter conducting the “Best Philanthropy” project will be recognized at the Knoxville convention.
